No Big Beds With Flowers On Top

We will be attending my uncle, Billy's funeral tomorrow. I was explaining to Alexis that she was not going to see one of those big beds with flowers on top. I advised her that she would instead see a small little box that would be given to his wife. Alexis asked, "why?" I explained that some people choose to be cremated. "What's that", she asked. I explained what that meant. I also told her that it didn't hurt, because you leave your old body when you die and receive a new, perfect body when you go to heaven. She wanted to know why we left our bodies here? Alexis then wanted to know if Billy's mouth dropped when he got to heaven and if he fell to his knees. Yes, I'm sure that is exactly what happened!!

Bitterness, Rage, Anger & Harsh Words

Alexis was struggling with the feeling of anger that was coming upon her, as her little sister, Londyn resisted in giving her the phone so she could talk to daddy. Alexis continuously asked Londyn to give her the phone; very patiently I might add. Londyn consistently replied back to her saying, "NO!" Suddenly Alexis made a very agitated sound and said, "OHHHH, I'm starting to feel like Cain." I advised Alexis, not to be like Cain. Instead, tell Londyn how you feel and try to talk it out. I explained to her, that it's wise to get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, and harsh words with a loving attitude.

Autumn is the season of dying,
but that spring brings new life

When It's Cold Outside

Before turning in each night, I make my rounds checking on my girls to make sure they are wrapped up swaddled in warm and cozy blankets; especially on those cold and frigid nights. I must say, I wake up numerous times throughout the night to make sure they are still covered and warm. My concern for Londyn is that she is too young to know how to keep herself swaddled in her blanket as she sleeps. To my surprise, I've been finding her snuggled in her blanket all the way to the bottom of her toes. Occasionally, she will awaken to give me a final kiss good night. As she plops herself back down to sleep, I've observed her reaching down, grasping her blanket and pulling it up to cover herself. This assures me that she understands the concept of keeping herself warm with this blanket of hers; although she is not even two years old yet! I would never want my girls to sleep, even one night, cold and in want of a blanket to keep themselves warm. Maybe now those frequent nightly visits to their rooms will taper off. Maybe not!
